Looking to the year ahead and the explosive opportunities at FESPA Global Print Expo in Munich.

At the beginning of the new year, our collective thoughts inevitably start to turn to our plans and directions for the future.

For our speciality print community, the future is rich with potential. Our own research in the form of our global Print Census tells us that print businesses are investing more actively than ever, both to achieve productivity and efficiency gains, and to extend their product portfolios and improve the consistency of their proposition to customers.

And of course the applications mix is evolving continually, powered by innovations in technology and media, and fuelled by PSPs’ irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to experiment.

For five decades, FESPA exhibitions have been the place where speciality print businesses have discovered the latest technology developments and advancements in applications, and our visitors’ appetite for innovation and inspiration is healthier than ever.

FESPA’s reputation as a global event was built on its strength as the international meeting place for the visual communications community, with a strong emphasis on printed graphics.

Today FESPA is a magnet for dozens of different segments and vertical markets, from commercial printers to creative agencies, textile producers to garment decorators, sign-makers to vehicle wrappers, interior designers to retail fitters, manufacturers to brand marketers.

Their applications focus ranges from retail graphics to out-of-home media, self-adhesives to customised packaging, sportswear to soft signage, wall coverings to surface décor, and everything in between.

Under one roof at FESPA Global Print Expo visitors can find every imaginable production solution: digital wide format devices, flatbed UV printers, screen presses, cutting and laminating technologies, workflow automation tools, textile and direct-to-garment (DTG) printers, display systems, sign-making accessories, together with an array of printable media and speciality inks and coatings.

When this diverse audience comes together for four days in one place, bringing their aspirations and ideas and matching them to the thousands of innovations they find on the exhibition floor, you can feel the buzz and excitement from the moment you enter the FESPA halls.

In our campaign for FESPA Global Print Expo 2019, we set out to express visually the burst of colour and energy that characterises a FESPA show, the vibrancy of the applications and the optimism and momentum of this most endlessly creative, inventive sector.

The conversations we have with print service providers, sign-makers, technology developers and print specifiers around the world are a daily reminder of the boundless commercial and creative opportunities that exist for our visitors.

Every year, as we launch the marketing campaign for our flagship European expo, we have a renewed sense of purpose: to deliver an event rich in content that captures this spirit while offering real business solutions. Just as importantly, to create a supportive, community-led environment that promotes learning and peer-to-peer networking to advance best practice and the exchange of ideas.

We look forward to sharing details of our 2019 event programme with you in the coming weeks, but one thing we can guarantee: a visit to FESPA in Munich in May 2019 will feel like an Explosion of Possibilities.
